magma architecture - founded in 2003 by Martin Ostermann and Lena Kleinheinz - is an award-winning, multidisciplinary practice operating at the interface between architecture, design and communication. We specialize in creating visionary landmark buildings, spectacular temporary structures and expressive interiors. The studio has extensive experience working for both public and private clients in the cultural, sport, residential and commercial sectors. magma’s clients are people who want something different, something that gives them a real identity.
Central to our design philosophy is the use of complex geometric forms; these generate a spatial dynamic, which we feel better articulates the heterogeneity of our cities and global culture. We seek to be part of a new paradigm within architecture - one that is expressionistic, rooted in non-linear form making, facilitated by new materiality and cutting edge technologies.
magma offers a full architecture, masterplanning and interior design service from its Berlin office. Through intensive dialogue with our clients we identify the specificities of each project. We have special expertise in working internationally and cross culturally. This enables us to implement our domestic German quality standards anywhere in the world and to advise foreign clients on realizing projects in Germany. From initial ideas to completion, our design process is exacting. This process is fundamental in shaping and developing a unique piece of design.
